Staking Plans
You will notice that this includes details of three distinct staking plans, named Plan 1, Plan 2 and Plan 3. The reason for this is that different staking plans will suit different people, and your welcome pack includes lots of advice to make sure that you settle on a staking plan that is suitable for you, whether it be one of these three plans, a slight adaptation on one of them, or something completely different.
Plan 1 is a straightforward staking plan that calculates a basic minimum stake as 1% of the initial bank. In this case, we are starting with a bank of £500, so the basic minimum stake is £5. You will notice from our results file that we supply a “weighting” with each tip. This ranges from 1 to 5 and is dependent on the odds of the selection we are tipping, with a high weighting used for tips at low odds, and a low weighting used for tips at high odds. To get each individual stake we simply multiply the basic minimum stake by the weighting.
Plan 2 is a more aggressive staking plan, where each stake is calculated as 1% of the ongoing bank multiplied by the weighting. This means that, as your bank increases, the stakes will increase, giving the potential for much bigger wins.
Plan 3 uses a combination of the two previous methods. So half of the stake is calculated by the method in plan 1 (0.5% of the initial bank multiplied by the weighting) and the other half of the stake is calculated by the method in plan 2 (0.5% of the ongoing bank multiplied by the weighting).
Starting Bank
All of the staking plans in our results file are based on an initial betting bank of £500. We do have any specific requirement as to how much money you should have available to bet with when you take out a subscription and we appreciate that some people will have significantly less than this, while some will have significantly more. The table below shows final bank figures for last season’s tips for all three staking plans and for a variety of initial betting bank sizes.
| Initial Bank | Final Bank – Plan 1 | Final Bank – Plan 2 | Final Bank – Plan 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| £100 | £362.39 | £1,077.97 | £520.80 |
| £200 | £724.78 | £2,155.95 | £1041.65 |
| £500 | £1,811.95 | £5,389.87 | £2,604.14 |
| £1,000 | £3,623.90 | £10,779.75 | £5,208.27 |
| £2,000 | £7,247.80 | £21,559.50 | £10,416.54 |
Previous Seasons
Season 2010/11 has been our best season to date. However, our tips have been very consistent, and for every season and for every staking plan, our bank has at least doubled in size. We fully expect that this will be the case for future seasons too.
Current Season
Despite being our poorest season to date, season 2011/12 has still provided us with a very healthy profit. At 5th March 2012 (when I am writing this), our £500 starting bank has turned into a bank of £897.26 with a return on investment of 14.10%. While we are happy to be showing a profit, we still expect things to improve and our bank to increase at a faster rate in the final third of the season.
Odds
If you are familiar with the world of football betting, you will know that different bookmakers offer different odds for football fixtures, and that they will often change their odds in the run up to a match. The odds presented on our results file were the best odds available from a handful of bookmakers at the time our tips were available. To maximise your profits we recommend that you open accounts with a number of bookmakers, as well as the betting exchange BetFair. In many cases this will mean that you would have been able to get even better odds than the odds quoted on our results file, and so get even bigger profits. If you are limited to just one or two bookmakers or betting exchanges, then there would have been a number of fixtures when you would have had to settle for lower odds, meaning lower profits, however, despite this, you would still have acheived a very healthly profit overall.
